| Monte Bridges elected WASA President-Elect | |||||||||
School Administrators Statewide Elect DR. Monte L. Bridges, Puget Sound Educational Service District, to Association Presidency in 2009 OLYMPIA, Washington—The Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) is pleased to announce that members have elected Dr. Monte L. Bridges, superintendent of Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD), as president-elect for 2008–09. Dr. Bridges will assume the presidency in July 2009, following the term of the current president, Dr. Rich McBride, North Central ESD. As a member of WASA since 1987, Dr. Bridges has actively participated as a board member, honorary awards chair, and region president. Upon learning of his selection, Dr. Bridges stated, “It is an honor to serve our membership as WASA President-elect. I look forward to expanding our circle of influence and participation as we work together to improve student learning, educational funding, and leadership capacity in Washington State.” As president, Dr. Bridge’s goals will be to:
Dr. Bridges has been with the PSESD since 2000 and the superintendent since 2002. Prior to his role with PSESD, he served as the superintendent, assistant superintendent, and director of Instruction and Special Services for the Vashon Island School District. His education includes a doctor of education and a masters and bachelors from the University of Washington, as well as a masters degree from Seattle University. ABOUT WASA.
