The AESD Executive Committee met Monday, March 11, 2013, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at ESD 113 following the WASA/WSSDA Legislative Conference.

November 15, 2012 AESD Executive Committee Meeting

The AESD Executive Committee met November 15 prior to the WSSDA Conference in Spokane. See November 15 agenda to view what was discussed.

April 12 AESD Executive Committee Meeting

The AESD Executive Committee met April 12 during the 2012 AESD Conference in Chelan. See April 12 Agenda to view what was discussed. Approved at the meeting were the AESD Operating Principles. The AESD Annual Business meeting was held April 14. See Agenda for more information. The Board Orientation document, put together by Howard Coble, Executive Committee me mber from ESD 113, was approved. Thanks to Howard and to ESD 113 Superintendent Bill Keim for their work on these documents.


February 28, 2011 AESD Executive Board Meeting

The AESD Executive Board meeting met Monday, February 28 at the WSSDA Conference Center. President Charles Staadecker took the Board through an agenda that included a legislative update, discussion of ESD Superintendent priorities, new initiatives and entrepreneurship and a budget report. Dr. Howard Coble, ESD 113 AESD Representative, was recognized for the recent Distinguished Service Award he received at the AASA Conference in Denver (see picture and story above).

The AESD Conference coming up April 14-16, 2011 in Seattle was highlighted. The agenda and minutes are posted on the AESD Forum. The next meeting for the AESD Executive Board is coming up on April 14 during the AESD Conference.

October 2010 AESD Executive Board Retreat

The AESD Executive Board and ESD Superintendents met October 14, 2010 at Puget Sound ESD for their annual retreat. The agenda consisted of several reports, including:

April 22, 2010 AESD Executive Board Meeting

The April 22 AESD Executive Board meeting was held at the Hilton in Vancouver during the 2010 AESD Conference. Topics of discussion included the 2010-11 Budget, entrepreneurial ideas and the AESD Forum, progress report on Network implementation and a legislative report by Jim Shoemake and Marcia Fromhold.

October 12 AESD Executive Board Meeting

AESD Executive Board meetings were held October 12, 2009 at Puget Sound ESD and November 19, 2009 in Seattle during the WSSDA Conference. See agenda for discussion topics.

June 30 AESD Executive Board Meeting

The summer meeting of the AESD Executive Board, followed by a brief ESD Coordinating Board meeting was held Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel-City Center, in Spokane. Charlie Staadecker shared his idea of bringing entrepreneurial ideas to the board. He suggested if members hear or read of an idea to bring it to the other members. It was suggested to have “entrepreneurial ideas” added as a standing item to the meeting agenda. February 9 AESD Meeting

The AESD Executive Board met February 9 at the WASA office following the 2009 WASA/WSSDA Legislative Conference. Topics of discussion on the agenda were the WASA Services Contract, and the legislative report by Jim Shoemake, Marcia Fromhld and Jane Gutting. Marcia Fromhold will be assisting with AESD Executive Services during the upcoming legislative session.

There was also discussion about dropout retrieval re-engagement (Twyla Barnes and Monte Bridges), fiscal technical assistance (Jim Shoemake), capital funding (Jim Shoemake) and accreditation (Jerry Jenkins and Mike Dunn). Brad Gingerich and Bruce Hawkins highlighted the upcoming AESD Conference scheduled April 16-18 in Walla Walla.

The ESD 40th Anniversary celebration is coming up soon in the Capitol Rotunda. Twyla Barnes distributed a tentative agenda for the event.

November 20, 2008 AESD Executive Meeting

The AESD Executive Board met November 20, 2008, during the WSSDA Conference held in Spokane.

October 20, 2008 AESD Executive Retreat

The AESD Executive Retreat was held October 20, 2008, at Puget Sound ESD. A productive meeting was held where the AESD Executive Board discussed how all nine ESD boards can assist in furthering the development of the statewide system of ESDs.

July 1, 2008, AESD Executive Board Meeting

The AESD Executive Board met Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at ESD 101. Topics of discussion included the proposed 2008-09 WASA Professional Services Contract, the OSPI/ESD Partnership Agreement and planning for the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of ESDs. Another important topic was presentation of the document "Educational Service Districts: Extending State Support for Schools through a Regional Delivery System." This document includes a funding proposal submitted to the Joint Task Force on Basic Education Finance. It can be reviewed at Regional Delivery System Proposal. February 11 AESD Meeting

The AESD Executive Board met Monday, February 11, 2008, in conjunction with the WASA/WSSDA Legislative Conference in Olympia. Susan Leddick, who is facilitating the AESD Strategic Plan, is shown explaining their work on meeting Goal 3 of the draft AESD Strategic Plan: “Further the development of ESDs as an effective statewide system of regional support.”

AESD Meeting held November 15

The AESD Executive Board meeting was held Thursday, November 15, 2007, at the Mayflower Hotel, in conjunction with the WSSDA Conference. The work session was held from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. See Legislative Agenda to see what the AESD Board approved for the 2008 Supplemental Session.
