| AESD Role and Strategic Plan | |||
AESD Constitution and Policies Mission The primary purpose of the Association of Educational Service Districts shall be to provide coordination to enable clear and appropriate communication between ESD Boards as a means for sharing ideas of common interest. AESD Goals and Strategies for 2006 Goal #1 - Create partnerships of those involved in the welfare and services of students pre-K-12. Goal #2 - Together with school districts, build capacity to ensure student success: a) Build a funded regionally-delivered statewide system to support school and district efforts for improving student success; b) Build a regional student recovery (intervention) model for the class of 2008 and beyond. Goal #3 - Develop an AESD communication plan to be utilized by all members to advocate for AESD systems, goals and strategies. September 29 Strategic Planning MeetingThe AESD Executive Board met September 29 at Puget Sound ESD to conduct business and discuss the 2007 Strategic Plan. AESD Executive Board Chair Howard Coble introduced Dr. Jim Shoemake, who has been selected to assist with AESD Executive Services (shown at left). Dr. Shoemake will be working with Norm Wisner (right), WASA Legislative Liaison, to provide professional support for the association. Legislative priority updates were also shared at the meeting, including: Core funding, early learning, drop-out prevention and Washington Learns.
